The Other Side Podcast Network :  Our other shows

About

TuxJam is a family friendly show by Al, Andrew, Dave and Kevie which takes a look at some of the application and distros that have been released in the open source community and mixes in a variety of music to make the show both informative and entertaining.  The main aim is not to promote established and popular distributions such as Ubuntu and Fedora or applications that a lot of us use everyday on our PCs such as VLC or Firefox, but instead to give some coverage to projects that are out there, still maintained but not known by a lot of Linux users.

If you know about or develop an application you think fits the above criteria and would like me to take a look at it then send us an email or you can get in contact with us on GnuSocial, Diaspora and Twitter by inserting #tuxjam into the message.

TuxJam started out as a solo project by Kevie in June 2011. In March 2012, the show became part of the, new defunct, Unseen Studio Podcast Network. By the end of 2012, Kevie had decided to enlist a co-host as the work load of being a solo podcaster had grown; Andrew joined the show and made his debut in episode 17, February 2013. Dave, an experienced podcaster, made his first appearance on the show in episode 57, covering for a missing Andrew, and became a regular co-host in episode 60, September 2017. In January 2024 Al, another experienced podcaster from the Admin Admin Podcast, joined the team.
